This is an experiment of sorts. I am trying out something new here; mostly out of boredom.
Mimori Togo is one of the protagonists from the Magical Girl series Yuki Yuna Is a Hero. Mimori, rather Togo(as she prefers to be called), was chosen to be one of the guardians of humanity. In this figure we get to see just how awesome her hero form is.
This figure is actually quite large in the sense that it occupies a large volume of space. Rather than standing upright, we see Togo relaxed, propped up by her ribbons. It's hard to believe this thing is 1/8 scale!
The figure itself is propped up by a rather sturdy piece of steel that travels from the base up to the back. While it does look a bit unsightly, you are more than likely to not even notice it when looking at it.
The base itself is not very big at all. It manages to balance everything quite easily and doesn't feel sloppy in the slightest. It also has a beautiful floral pattern and is a nice dark blue.
The detail of this figure, overall, is pretty impressive. We get a cheerful expression from Togo and a good view of her green eyes. While in hero form, Togo's dark hair is much longer than normal. Instead of having it draped lifelessly, it billows behind her; showing just how voluminous it is. The costume itself is remarkably well done; down to the very smallest of hearts. Her Mankai gauge is fully realized above her left breast as well.
We even have a fairy companion! It stands about as tall as a tube of lip balm. There's also a quarter here for reference.
If I have one gripe, it's the price. This thing is quite expensive! Obviously prices may vary, so I recommend shopping around. Considering the overall scope and quality, I guess it makes sense. Still, the wallet certainly feels it!
Conclusion
I love it! I'm a big fan of the series and Magical Girls in general so this definitely fits in that niche. This is a very well made figure from Alter. Despite it being only 1/8, it definitely commands a lot of space. The color and details are basically perfect.
Recommendation
If you are a fan of Yuki Yuna Is a Hero, magical girls, or just Togo in general, then I definitely recommend showing your support with this figure. I realize this comes out a bit late after its release but you might be able to score one if you're vigilant.
