Melty Blood: AACC - Notes

A list of the stuff I wrote down for Melty Blood so I could do a demonstration video on it. It is NOT all-inclusive and exhaustive. However, it's a decent chunk of the mechanics and how different moons differentiate themselves. If there are errors I can easily rectify them. Just let me know!

I have made some corrections as of December 29, 2016

Movement
2 Jumps+ 1 Dash(some exceptions exist based on the character)

Universal Mechanics
Throws(A+D)

Damage reduction(Press buttons while taking damage to reduce maximum damage).

EX Guard(Press guard the same time your opponent's attack lands and it will push them away).

Guard Crush(Loss of the entire Guard Gauge). Can lead into a full combo.

Guard Quality(Effects how much overall guard damage you take). This directly affects how easily you can be Guard Crushed.

Shield Bunker(214D)(Uses 50 meter(Half Moon is 100) when in block-stun. Has guard point. CANNOT KILL.

Crescent

Offense
Reverse Beats-Yes

Meter-3 Blocks

Heat(A+B+C)-Can activate Heat mode any time over 100 meter.

Blood Heat(A+B+C)-Can only activate during MAX. Activating gives a defensive knock-back effect. Allows access to Another Arc Drive.

*Regains 200 Meter if Heat or Blood Heat is not activated. Regains only 100 if an Arc Drive was used.

Charging(5ABC)-Cannot do it.

Arc Drive-Available in Heat and MAX. Has a different effect in blood heat, whether it be follow-ups or additional damage depends on the character.

Another Arc Drive-Only in Blood Heat

Defense
Red Life-Regenerates Red life slowly. Will continue to heal even while taking more damage.

Parries/shield-Parry special cancel only. Drains meter if held. Can be held the longest.

Dodging(2A+B)-Can dodge on ground and in air. Damages guard quality.

Bursts-Only works in MAX, not Heat/Blood Heat.


Full Moon

Offense
Reverse Beat-Cannot use.

Meter-3 Blocks

Heat(A+B+C)-Can only enter heat mode while on offense and only while MAX. Can act as a cancel as well.

Blood Heat(A+B+C)-Gives knock back, is invincible. Access to Another Arc Drive

*Regains 100 Meter if Heat or Blood Heat is not activated. Regains none if an Arc Drive was used.

Charging(5ABC)-Can up until max

Arc Drive-Available in Heat and MAX. Has a different effect in blood heat, whether it be follow-ups or additional damage depends on the character.

Defense
Red life-Heals red life to full instantly. Only when activated.

Parries/shield-Special cancel only. Drains meter while active. Cannot last as long as Crescent's

Dodging(2A+B)-Cannot dodge at all

Bursts-Only works in MAX.

Another Arc Drive-Only in blood heat.

Half Moon

Offense
Reverse Beats-Can use.

Meter-2 Blocks

Heat(A+B+C)-automatically enters heat mode when MAX

Blood Heat(A+B+C)-Cannot use

Charging(5ABC)-Cannot use.

Arc Drive-Available in Heat only. Does not have MAX.

Another Arc Drive-Does not have.

Defense
Red life-Regenerates red life slowly. Regeneration halts after auto-burst.

Parries/shield-Parry counter. Cannot hold.

Dodging(2A+B)-Works in the air. Has a slight stall. Damages guard quality.

Shield Bunker(214D)-Uses 100 meter when in block-stun.

Bursts-Auto-burst on hit.
