Kurokami is a story I came onto randomly while searching for potential low-price gems in RightStuf's clearance section. It had two volumes, each were priced reasonably low and the story premise sounded bizarre. A world based on "Luck" and everyone had 2 other lookalikes in addition to themselves to keep the "Luck" balanced. If they met, some nasty stuff happened. It seemed like a perfect random title to grab.
People that know me, know that I sometimes buy things at random if the price is right. I have found some real cool stuff doing that; notably my precious AKB0048. I have also found some real stinkers, though; such as Dragonar Academy. Anyways, the point is, I do not mind taking risks if the monetary investment is low.
So, what is wrong with Kurokami? Honestly, nothing. So why is this not a full review? That is simple. I have not finished it. Why not? Because the localization was never finished. Had I know that before-hand I would not have bothered to purchase even those two volumes. This is even worse than a potentially fun series ending on a cliff hanger for a follow-up season that will never happen.
Do not read this as a condemnation of the material, however. What is there, is pretty good. It's silly, sure, but the in-series universe is really unique and interesting. The rest of the series is technically attainable. It is just not localized so the import fees might cost a lot.
There is, fortunately, a manga version of the same series titled Black God. It's a very literal translation. Anyways, the point of this is, if you are interested in the series, I would recommend maybe considering the manga over the anime. The manga is finished at 19 volumes(I'm pretty sure, I looked into it). It could be fun.
